Shillong, March 08: The ruling NPP-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) coalition government has appointed 12 MLAs as chairmen of different Boards and Corporations in the state.
In a notification issued here on Thursday, BJP MLA from South Shillong Sanbor Shullai was appointed as chairman of the Meghalaya Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC).
PDF MLA from Umsning, Jason Sawkmie Mawlong is the Chairman of Meghalaya Government Construction Corporation (MGCC) while his colleague in the party Gavin Mylliem is the chairman of KHADI Board.
The list also includes as many as eight MLAs from the National People’s Party (NPP).
These include Brenning A Sangma, Chairman of the Meghalaya Mineral Development Corporation Limited (MMDC), Dasakhiat Lamare – Meghalaya Urban Development Authority (MUDA), Rupert M Momin – MIDC, Gigur Myrthong – Meghalaya State Housing Board, Jim M Sangma – Transport Corporation, Ponseng R Marak – Meghalaya State Grievances Committee and S.G. Esmatur Mominin – Forest Development Corporation.
Meanwhile, HSPDP MLA Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar was appointed as Chairman of Meghalaya Non-Conventional Energy Agency.
