Shillong Sept 20: The annual meeting of Principals and Chairmen of Army Public Schools of the Eastern Command was held in Shillong for two days on Thursday and Friday.
The annual meeting was held to take stock of the academic progress of Army Public Schools and discuss the focus areas relating to academic and administrative aspects to achieve all round excellence.
The meet was hosted by the APS Shillong under the direction and guidance of Headquarters 101 Area. The main programme was held at David Hall of the School.
The plenary session of the meet was chaired by Lt Gen RP Kalita, Chief of Staff, Eastern Command.
Besides the Principals and Chairmen, the meet was attended by various other senior Army officers and educationists.
Brain storming sessions and interactions were also organized which has opened new vistas of knowledge and understanding of teaching practices besides providing an opportunity for exchange of ideas.
Cash awards and overall Excellence Trophies for both Senior School and Secondary School categories were given away to the Principal of APS Tezpur and APS Kalimpong respectively for performing creditably among other schools in the Eastern Command.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest exhorted the Principals to continue to take lead in shaping the future of future citizens of the country.
He congratulated the schools for the excellent results and emphasized on mature and delicate handing of the relationship among the stakeholders, teachers and students.
Besides the plenary session, a first of its kind cultural festival was organized as part of the meet.
The students of all Army Public Schools of Eastern Command participated in the cultural extravaganza and mesmerized the audience with their impressive performances and display of talents.
