SSA school teachers threaten agitation over pending salary

'SSA teachers deprived of rights and benefits'

Shillong, Nov 12: The Meghalaya SSA School Association (MSSASA) has threatened to agitate if the state government failed to release their pending salary before November 18.

The decision was taken at the general executive meeting of the association held on November 8.

In a letter submitted to the principal secretary (education) on Tuesday, president of the association Aristotle C Rymbai said, “The association has taken a resolution to request the state government to release the salary on or before November 18, failing which we are left with no other option but to come out to the street.”

He said the government is yet to release the salary for the period from August to October of the current academic year to over 5,814 lower primary teachers and 6,727 upper primary teachers working under Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan schools.
