State youth from Mairang in “Yes I am” finale top list seeks support

Shillong, March 22: Banteithymmai Nongrum, a resident of Bynther, Mairang West Khasi Hills an upcoming singer and contestant of reality TV show, “Yes I am” has requested for people’s support. The reality show will be telecast on Zing channel in April.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, the aspiring Hindi singer from Bynther, who is in the finale top list said that she has completed the Mega Audition held in Mumbai on February 12-13. Grooming and training was on February 14 and 15 and the results will be out in the month of April.

In the press release, Nongrum urged the All Meghalaya Dancers Association (AMDA) for financial assistance and this comes in the wake of AMDA demanding for financial assistance from the state government support local talents who participate outside the state. Nongrum has gone to Mumbai with financial assistance from her family. She connected with the reality after an online audition for which she was selected for the mega audition.

The organisers also informed on the voting system, that people can vote by pressing “love” button in “Yes I am” through Facebook page   FB account of  ‘ Bateithymmai Nongrum’ as a sign to support her and the voting line will ends on 2nd April.
Meanwhile, All Meghalaya Dancers Association (AMDA) president, Kit Thabah said that they will meet Chief Minister Mukul Sangma next week to seek government’s intervention to their demands.
