Shillong, June 08: Two roads in Meghalaya have been included as new National Highways by the Union ministry of road transport highways and shipping.
These roads are Nongstoiñ-Maweit-Nongjri road (75km) and Dkhiah-Sutnga-Saipung-Moulsei road (84km).
A letter sent by Union minister for Union ministry of road transport highways and shipping, Nitin Gadkari to Shillong MP, Vincent H. Pala recently said, “You will be glad to know that my ministry has approved in principle the declaration of these roads as new national highways in the state of Meghalaya.”
Gadkari also asked the Meghalaya PWD to expedite preparation of detailed project reports for the two roads.
