Shillong, June 10: A private vehicle proceeding from Guwahati to Shillong was today detained by City police as the registration number of the vehicle was not written in natural number.
According to police, the silver-coloured Alto K10 was detained by Mawlai traffic police today evening and imposed a fine with warning.
“It was found that the number plate of the vehicle was not written in common numerical value, but represent some kind of symbols,” a police official said.
Police said that the driver of the vehicle was warned, because it would be difficult to recognize such symbols, especially if the vehicle is used for committing crimes.
