Shillong, Oct. 01: Bah Winstone Tony Lyngdoh today formally assumed office as the new Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), after Council Chairman Bah Strong Pillar Kharjana officially announced his appointment in the House.






The session began with a felicitation of the new CEM. Speaking on the occasion, Bah Titos noted that over the past six months there had been no major differences among the MDCs and expressed hope that mutual understanding and cooperation would continue under the new leadership.
The outgoing CEM, Bah Shemborlang Rynjah, was unable to attend the proceedings due to illness. Members of the Executive Committee (EC), including Bah Powell and Kong Aibandaplin, along with other MDCs, congratulated Bah Winstone on assuming office and clarified that Rynjah’s resignation was solely on health grounds.
Opposition members meanwhile urged the new CEM to lead with dedication, avoid resigning midway, and ensure the steady progress of the Council’s work.
In his concluding speech, Bah Winstone Tony Lyngdoh expressed gratitude to the people of Nongthymmai Constituency for electing him as MDC. He assured the House that while he was formally taking charge today, the functioning of the Council would continue without disruption.
