JOWAI, MAY 10: The National People’s Women’s Front, West Jaintia Hills Unit, on Sunday honoured 111 women for their service to society at a Mother’s Day-cum-felicitation programme, calling their contribution a crucial part of society’s progress.
The programme, held to honour women and mothers who have served the public and worked hard for the welfare of society, was chaired by NPWF West Jaintia Hills Chairperson Lily Phawa.
Chief Guest Octomewot Lamin, Nominated MDC and NPP State Working President and Guest of honour Reformingson Lamare, MDC of 7 Nartiang-Wahiajer felicitated the women.
Special Invitee Tngenris Sutnga addressed the gathering and said the dedication and service of the women were vital for social growth.
“The dedication and service of women are a crucial part of society’s progress,” she said.
The event was a mark of appreciation for women who have selflessly and tirelessly worked for the betterment of the village and the state.
