Shillong, Sept 25: A delegation of the core committee of the Meghalaya BJP will call on Union Tourism minister, Alphons Joseph Kannanthanam who is the BJP’s in-charge of election in Meghalaya in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The core committee led by State BJP president Shibun Lyngdoh will meet Alphons and discuss with him matters related to preparedness of the BJP for the upcoming election to the 10th Meghalaya Legisaltive Assembly to be held in February-March next year as well as strategies to be adopted for the upcoming Assembly poll in the state.
According to leaders in the state BJP who are camping in New Delhi, Alphons along with BJP national spokesperson, Nalin Kohli who is also in-charge of Meghalaya will visit Meghalaya this coming Friday.
They also said that the visit of BJP national president, Amit Shah to the state has been temporarily put off due to busy scheduled in view of the upcoming Assembly elections in Guajarat and Himachal Pradesh.
“The visit of the national president has been put off for now, and it will be re-scheduled later,” a State BJP leader said.
