BJP’s vision document assures lifting of coal mining ban

Shillong, Feb 15: The BJP released its Vision Document that promised lifting ban on coal mining within six months after forming a new government.

The document was released by Union Defence Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman in the presence of Union Defence Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman released the vision document in the presence of Union tourism minister K.J. Alphons, BJP General Secretary in-charge Meghalaya, Nalin Kohli, Meghalaya BJP chief, Shibun Lyngdoh and former Congress minister Alexander Hek.

The document also talked about the BJP’s move to implement the 7th pay commission if elected to power, promote organic farming on a large scale, make Meghalaya the most sought after tourist destination, and check influx of foreign migrants through strong policy decisions, regularize contractual employees working in government sector and provide one job opportunity to every youth, regularizing all government pending post and establish a strong employment policy for the state.

The BJP also assured housing for all with pukka roof, tapped and provide safe drinking water to every household, pukka roads to connect every village in with the district headquarters, ensure 24 hours electricity supply to every household, giving employment to 2 lakh youth in tourism industry, distribute one packet of sanitary napkin to all women from Below Poverty Line households, set up more government schools with trained teachers for every child to have access to education, give additional support to rural schools to improve quality and check drop-out rate, and set up more agricultural markets including agri-markets for women.

The vision document also promised to enact and implement a comprehensive labour law for minimum pay security and work-life balance, besides creating an environment for big investors to invest in the state, construct new roads, highways, by-passes, bridges, flyovers, create international standard infrastructure for sports and youth programme, create platforms to tap talent in arts and craft and provide scholarship for further skill development, build sufficient and relevant infrastructure to promote medical tourism, naturopathy, traditional methods of treatment.

The Vision Document also assured of reducing electricity bills by 30 per cent in urban areas and 50 per cent in rural areas by promoting more efficient use of power, curb insurgency through development and creations of jobs, use latest technology to curb crime and solve cases, and ensure safety and security of women and children against sexual abuse.

Moreover, the BJP promised to get Khasi and Garo languages included into the eighth schedule of the Constitution.
